Choosing General Academic Strand

ARE YOU SURE?

Are you undecided about your passions? Take the Academic Strand in General (GAS).  Unlike other K to 12 tracks and strands that are focused on a particular occupation, GAS allows you to consider your choices. GAS is a Senior High School strand that takes a generalist approach to college preparation. It encompasses a wide range of fields, including Humanities, Social Sciences, Organizational Behavior, and Management. Since GAS does not specialize in either strand, you are free to select any of the three other strands' college degree programs depending on your electives. Education is also a potential path to take from this strand. This strand is for students who choose to participate in more general areas of research rather than more specialized fields of study. This strand allows students to choose elective subjects from any strand's specialized subjects.

This track serves as your helping hands to reach the goals in your life. GAS students are often prepared for college. That is, if the student already knows what path he will pursue after graduating from high school. This is due to the fact that GAS makes it easier for students to choose the subjects and strands they need to pursue higher education.
